Our kitchens focus on high-quality, seasonal food designed for sharing, with bold and thoughtful dishes that complement the experience of dining at Humble Grape.
We are now looking for a passionate and experienced Head Chef to join our Canary Wharf team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of an established kitchen, lead and develop a talented team, and play an important role as Humble Grape continues to grow and expand.
About You
We’re looking for a creative, hands-on, and driven Head Chef who can embody the Humble Grape brand and bring our food offering to life.
You’ll be an inspiring kitchen leader with a strong track record of maintaining high standards, developing people, and delivering consistently excellent food. You’ll have a genuine passion for seasonal, sharing-style cooking and enjoy creating dishes that are both exciting and accessible.
You’ll thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment and be someone who leads from the front, happy to work across every section of the kitchen while supporting and developing your team.
Just as importantly, you’ll be a kind, considered, and collaborative leader who understands the importance of creating a positive kitchen culture where people feel supported, valued, and able to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the kitchen team, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and health & safety.
Develop and maintain a seasonal menu focused on high-quality, sharing-style dishes.
Manage kitchen budgets, food costs, GP, wage costs, and stock control to support strong financial performance.
Recruit, train, motivate, and retain a talented kitchen team.
Create effective rotas and manage staffing levels in line with business needs.
Develop your team through regular training, feedback, and clear opportunities for progression.
Maintain a well-organised, efficient, and positive kitchen environment.
Work closely with the General Manager and wider venue team to deliver an exceptional overall guest experience.
Respond positively to feedback and continuously look for ways to improve the food offering and kitchen operation.
Stay curious and open-minded, bringing new ideas, techniques, and inspiration to the kitchen.
Build a strong kitchen culture centred around teamwork, respect, wellbeing, and high standards.
Play an active role in the continued development and growth of Humble Grape.
What We Offer
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing hospitality business where you can make a genuine impact. You’ll have the autonomy to develop the kitchen, shape the food offering, and build a strong team around you.
As Humble Grape continues to expand, there are real opportunities to develop your career alongside the wider business.
